Tottenham submit proposal for Barcelona starlet Carles Alena
Tottenham have submitted a proposal to the agent of Carles Alena, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Football.london).
The 21-year-old Spaniard has struggled for regular first-team minutes at Barcelona this season. Alena only has played 46 minutes in the La Liga but has featured in the Copa del Rey for the Catalan giants.
The report claims that the midfielder will be allowed to leave on loan in the January window as the player wants more football. AC Milan were linked with Alena, however, they seem to be out of the running (h/t Football.london).
Competition to land Alena
Ivan de la Pena, Alena’s agent, has received two offers from the Premier League, with one being Tottenham (h/t Football.london).
Mauricio Pochettino isn’t known for making too many winter transfers and it will be interesting to see if we move for the Spaniard in January. Giovani Lo Celso found the back of the net in his first start of the season, against Red Star Belgrade.
The Argentine can provide us with goals from the midfield, and his return should be a boost for Spurs. Tottenham could do with some fresh faces but our midfield is already stacked right now. Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier have not got games this season either.
