Manchester United enter talks to sign Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen
Manchester United have opened negotiations to sign Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window, according to El Desmarque (h/t Express).
The 27-year-old Dane is a free agent at the end of the season and could leave for nothing in the summer.
Eriksen only has two goals to his name this season for us and was on the bench in our 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday.
The report claims that United tried to sign Eriksen during the summer. However, the Dane rebuffed advances from them as he wanted to play for Real Madrid (h/t Express).
The Dane has now given up on playing for Los Galacticos and United will try to land him in January (h/t Express).
The Red Devils will place a £42million bid for the Tottenham star in hopes of signing him before the summer window (h/t Express).
Tottenham in a tough position
Getting £42m for a player who is in the last six months of his contract would be a great deal for Tottenham. Eriksen just hasn’t clicked into gear this season and making some money during the winter window would be quite a wise move.
However, landing a replacement wouldn’t be easy in January and we could do with some fresh faces in the team. Giovani Lo Celso started his second game of the season against Sheffield United and could fill the gap left by Eriksen.
