Predicted Spurs XI vs Wolves

Eighth placed Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Molineux this Sunday to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers knowing a win can take them to as high as 5th depending on other results. Chelsea’s loss to Bournemouth on Saturday will leave Tottenham just 3 points off the fourth spot if they beat Wolves. With recent chinks showing in Chelsea’s armor, Mourinho must believe that the fourth spot is there for the taking. Coupled with Manchester United’s recent resurgence and a gritty Sheffield United side in the mix, it becomes imperative that Tottenham take the maximum points back to North London.

With progress to the last 16 guaranteed, Mourinho chose to rest a number of his starting players for the midweek clash against Bayern Munich. Tottenham could have as many as 6 changes to the team that started midweek with the likes to Kane, Verthonghen, Alli, Son, Sanchez and Aurier returning to the starting XI.

Given Mourinho’s recent comments, Giovani Lo Celso looks likely to start from the bench at best.

Formation

Mourinho has so far refused to deviate from the 4-2-3-1 since he took over and should continue to do so in this game as well.

Predicted Starting XI

Spurs look set to use the 4-2-3-1 formation once again (buildelineup)

With Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm both ruled out,Gazzaniga is all set to continue in goal.

Mourinho seems to prefer a backline of Verthonghen,Alderweireld,Sanchez and Aurier and it’s unlikely that any of them will be dropped unless there is a last-minute injury.

With Ndombele and Winks out injured and Lo Celso, not in favor, Sissoko and Dier should start in midfield behind the triad of Son, Alli and Moura with Harry Kane upfront.
