Tottenham Hotspur ‘hijack’ Everton’s move for Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma
Tottenham Hotspur have seemingly hijacked Everton’s move for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma in a stunning late twist, as per Express.
The 25-year-old was convinced by manager Frank Lampard to come to Goodison Park. A medical had taken place, but the Englishman’s sacking this week has led to Spurs swooping in for Danjuma.
Everton had agreed on a loan with an obligation to buy the player in the summer. Now, the Netherlands international is said to be headed to Hotspur Way for his medical.
If this goes through, it would certainly be one of the most dramatic transfer twists in recent memory. Spurs are also in the race for Nicolo Zaniolo after being beaten by Arsenal to Leandro Trossard’s signature.
Danjuma to Spurs?
It remains to be seen if our interest in Danjuma is impacted by those two deals, or if our interest in the AS Roma playmaker could be affected because of this.
Danjuma has experience playing in England with AFC Bournemouth. He scored 17 goals and provided eight assists in 52 games across competitions for them in a period of two years before leaving for the Yellow Submarine in 2021.
He has managed 22 goals and four assists in 51 games for the Spanish club since. Danjuma can play anywhere in attack but is largely deployed down the left flank.
That is a position where Son Heung-min has next to no real competition. Dejan Kulusevski plays down the right, while Richarlison could be seen as a more central option for us.

If the financial conditions seem satisfactory, then Spurs should be all over this deal. He isn’t a player that instantly strengthens our starting XI but he will strengthen the squad to a significant extent.
