Tottenham captain Ledley King made his return to action in a behind closed doors friendly against West Ham midweek.

In a squad consisting mainly of youngsters returning from loan spells after the football league season ended, King and fellow centre back Sebastien Bassong were the only two senior squad players to participate in a game where Spurs came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

It is the first action since the 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage back in October and, after coming through the match unscathed for the full 90 minutes, is likely to be avalable for selection for the remaining fixtures against Liverpool on Sunday and Birmingham City on May 22nd.

Latest Spurs news: Harry Kane expected to be fit for Champions League final

The Evening Standard understands that Harry Kane is confident of returning for the Champions League final against Liverpool.

Kane has not played for the team since defeating Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg in April, and the report claims that Spurs were concerned his season could be over.

The Englishman injured his ankle ligaments against City, and this was his second serious injury of the season.

The report adds that the England captain has been working hard on his rehab and even got through his recent individual sessions without any problems.

The Evening Standard claims that Kane will be stepping up his programme and should be part of the team that travels to Spain for the final.

Kane upbeat about his chances of playing

The 25-year-old spoke after Lucas Moura’s hat-trick against Ajax and have an update on his rehab (h/t Evening Standard):

“Rehab is going well. I started straight-line running this week and I have to start training even harder to prove myself to the gaffer.”

The return of Kane would be a huge boost for the club as we look to win the Champions League for the first time ever.

Kane has also been named in the England squad for the Nations League finals which start just a few days after the Champions League final.

Tottenham have seen Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura step up in the absence of Kane, but the Englishman is one of the best in the world and could be the difference between the sides on 1 June.

The 25-year-old might be a little rusty coming back from a two-month injury lay-off, and it will be interesting to see if Kane starts at the Wanda Metropolitano on 1 June.

Latest Spurs news: Serge Aurier doesn’t want to leave Tottenham

Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier wants to remain at the club despite playing just 17 times this season.

The Ivorian recorded just six starts in the Premier League and suffered many injuries in the campaign. Aurier’s last game was the 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in March, but the right-back isn’t looking to leave Spurs.

Speaking to Canal Football Club (h/t Football.london), the Ivorian added he was happy at Tottenham:

“In football things can happen very quickly.

“For the moment I do not desire to leave Tottenham. For the moment, I am very happy.”

Aurier looking to make it back to the starting XI

Keiran Trippier is the first-choice right-back at Spurs while Kyle Walker-Peters also played a few times for us this season.

Serge Aurier celebrates

Despite the competition for places in the first XI, Aurier highlighted that injuries played a huge part in his season and was expecting a great end to the campaign with the Champions League final:

“This season I have been interrupted by injury more than anything else, but life is like that.

“We have done a good season and we are in the Champions League final, we are going to enjoy that, see how it goes and next year, my season is not finished, I still have an Africa Cup of Nations too.”

Aurier’s career at Spurs is yet to take off since his move from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ivorian has had some great games but needs to remain fit for a period of time.

Trippier’s form has gone up and down since the World Cup and Spurs could do with a reliable right-back that knows how to defend.

The right-back is only 26 and could improve in the coming season. Playing in the AFCON could be the pre-season workout he needs ahead of the next campaign, and hopefully, he comes back without an injury.

Latest Spurs news: Tottenham fans threatened with bans should they sell Champions League final tickets

Tottenham have warned fans from selling their Champions League final tickets unofficially or for a profit.

A release on the club’s website claimed that they would take “the strongest possible action against anyone” selling final tickets with the possibility of indefinite season ticket bans.

The release further adds that if Spurs learn about any tickets being sold, those would be cancelled for the match and entry into the stadium would not be possible.

Spurs also warned supporters not to purchase tickets from unofficial sources as the authenticity cannot be guaranteed.

Not enough tickets for the final

Tottenham face Liverpool in the final of the Champions League on 1 June at the Wanda Metropolitano.

UEFA haven’t done justice to the final for both clubs involved with the BBC reporting that only 33,286 of the 68,000 tickets for the event have been handed to the finalists.

The governing body hasn’t done any favours to the Europa League finalists too with the final in Baku.

Tottenham are right in trying to warn the fans from buying or selling tickets which can lead to problems, however, this is a huge game which Spurs fans would not want to miss.

Latest Spurs news: Tottenham seek safety certificate for stadium ahead of next season

The Sun reports that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has ripped into the stadium workers at the new Tottenham stadium.

The report claims that work is going on at the new ground as we seek a full safety certificate.

The Sun adds that the new stadium was allowed to open last season as Haringey Council made some exceptions and provided clearance to play games only for this campaign.

Tottenham have some electrical and safety system work to be done and the report adds that Daniel Levy held a meeting with the contractors pressuring them to complete all pending jobs as quickly as possible.

Should the club not be able to get a full permit, the team would have to apply on an event to event basis to host large crowds at the new ground.

The report claims that Levy does not want any workers in the stadium when inspectors visit our ground, else the safety certificate will not be provided.

No worries for Spurs

Tottenham have insisted there is nothing to fear regarding the safety certificate and these issues are normal for any large constructions that are opened, according to the report.

Spurs’ new stadium inauguration was delayed several times but we were able to move into it in this campaign.
