Tottenham are reportedly keen on a move for Valencia’s Juan Mata.
The 23-year-old was instrumental in Spain’s triumph at this years U21 European Championship and has been courted by the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid in recent weeks.
Valencia have admittied their is firece competition between two Premier League clubs for their prized asset amidst reports they are willing to sell for £21m.
Rivals Arsenal are said to have opened negotiations for Mata but Spurs are hoping to convince the midfielder that his future lies at White Hart Lane.
Spurs are hoping to add Mata to their ranks after chairman Daniel Levy confirmed that Luka Modric won’t be leaving the club this summer.
