After 21 long years, Spurs are firm favourites to finish above their bitter rivals, Arsenal. If that happens, Spurs 100% deserve that and no doubt about the fact Pochettino’s men have played the best brand of football in the Premier League this campaign. A title chase till the last month was unexpected and the lilywhites exceeded everyone’s expectations this campaign.

Spurs started on a strong note in the transfer market in the summer with the signing of Toby Alderweireld from Atletico Madrid. Kieron Trippier, Clinton Njie and Son Hyeung Min completed the new additions to the squad. Whereas the other North London team secured the services of Petr Cech which completed their transfer period.

Much was expected from Wenger’s team this campaign with the duo of Sanchez and Ozil was expected to deliver a league title after 12 years. All was good for the gunners but as always Arsenal bottled it in the crucial stage. This was Arsenal’s best chance to win the league with City underperforming, United being uninspiring under Louis Van Gaal and Chelsea had the worst defense of a League title.

Against all odds, Spurs stood up to the challenge of the fairytale team Leicester, and it looked at a certain stage that a title can come to White Hart Lane after 55 long years. Mauricio Pochettino has changed Spurs’ fortunes and the team is playing some breathtaking football which was missing in the recent past. The Argentinian has galvanized the fan base like never before.

The tale of the bitter rivals has been exactly opposite, one team can believe in their team and their manager and the future of the lilywhites is looking bright under Pochettino. Whereas the Wenger Out brigade has never been this vociferous and the fans are unsure about what the future holds for them. Spurs have been better than Arsenal in every department this campaign and deserve to be in the top two of the Premier League.
