sissoko

The London side Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Moussa Sissoko from the Championship side, Newcastle United. The Lilly-Whites agreed a deal of £30 million with the Magpies and with that, they have equaled their transfer record.

The French international, who signed a five-year deal at White Hart Lane, has been on the radar of Mauricio Pochettino for some time and the Argentine gaffer did try to sign him earlier this summer, but his bids of around £16m and £25m were rejected by Newcastle United’s chairman Mike Ashley, and the Magpies were intact on their £30m price-tag.

Now, reports from ESPN stated that the Merseyside club Everton agreed to pay the asking price for the signature of the player, but Spurs clinched the move in the last minute. The 27-year-old French midfielder, who starred for France at this summer’s Euro 2016, started his footballing career with the Ligue 1 side Toulouse, and after making more than 200 appearances, he moved to Newcastle United in January 2013.

In the summer of 2013, Spurs paid Roma for Erik Lamela £30m and is the highest-ever fee involving a Championship club.

In other news, David Luiz, the infamous Brazilian Geezer has returned to Chelsea after spending few seasons at Paris with PSG. This has to be the shocking news of this transfer window, as the Blues sold Luiz for a staggering £50 and have now re-signed him for £32. The Blues were looking to sign a defender throughout the summer, but failed in their pursuit to sign anyone and finally ended up luring their former defender back at the club.

The Deadline day saw one more astonishing piece of business as Bournemouth and Eddie Howe, the man who has been rumored to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal managed to sign Jack Wilshere on a season long loan deal.

Bournemouth have completed some shrewd signings this season and Wilshere has been their best catch. With a backup by a gambling industry giant like Mansion –owner of some online casinos such as , Cherries afford this player and for sure others big players are to join the team.

One the other hand, Chelsea agreed to a £60million-a-year deal for kit made by Nike, after they decided to end their current sponsorship with Adidas deal early, so they are doing great as well.  The only team “on hold” is Tottenham, since their actual deal, worth £10million will expire at the end of the 2016/17 season, and they are awaiting Nike confirmation to became the official manufacturer.

All in all a busy summer window came to a close with the Premier League clubs spending over £1 billion for the first time and the above mentioned deals were the top of our picks from the deadline day.
