Tottenham are preparing a fresh move for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot as the player suggests he would be open to an exit from the French capital. The 21-year old has been brilliant for Paris Saint-Germain this season and has settled in well under manager Unai Emery. But The Mirror claim that Tottenham are looking to approach for the midfielder once again.

Quoted by The Mirror, Rabiot said:

“I am under contract until 2019 and I do not think that I am in a rush. If there are offers from big clubs, that obviously demands that they are considered. Clubs like Real Madrid, they are great clubs but, truly, the most important thing is the present and I am concentrating on what I am doing right now, that is the best thing to do.”

Rabiot is considered as one of the finest young midfielders in the game and has been quite impressive this campaign, notably against Barcelona in the first leg of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League round of 16 fixture. He dominated the midfield and gave the Catalans a run for their money as he disrupted their play and initiated counter attacks for his team.

Rabiot has once again been linked with a move to Tottenham.
Rabiot has once again been linked with a move to Tottenham.

A product of the PSG academy, Rabiot has made smooth progress in his career so far and has already won the Ligue 1 title four times consecutively, the French cup twice, and the French League Cup three times, all at this very young age of 21.

Spurs are long-time admirers of the player, having had a loan approach for him turned down by PSG two years ago.

He has made 26 appearances for the French club so far this season and has scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists in all competitions. The most interesting part is that he has only 2 yellow cards to his name this season, with both of them coming in the Champions League. Which means, out of 17 appearances in the league this season, he hasn’t yet been booked. This is quite phenomenal for a player who plays deep in the midfield and who is only 21-years old – talk about maturity and composure.

It is really logical that Tottenham have been linked with a player like Rabiot as a midfielder like him would add so much to the Spurs midfield. He is young, he is matured and is talented. This must probably be enough for Pochettino to be convinced that Rabiot would be the guy for the future of Tottenham’s central midfield area.

Would Rabiot be a good signing for Spurs?
