Tottenham striker Harry Kane could be looking to make a quicker than expected recovery this season. There were initial fears that the striker had picked up a season-ending injury against Millwall in the FA Cup but reports now claim that he could return to action by April 15.
Kane had been on a great run of goal scoring form as he had bagged 14 goals from just 13 games before his injury. The Sun now reports that the London club’s top scorer could make a quick recovery and will be set to face Bournemouth in the middle of April.
Tottenham haven’t really missed Kane all that much as they ran out 2-0 winners over Burnley recently but getting the talismanic striker back in the side will be a huge boost for their Premier League aspirations.
Spurs are now just seven points behind Chelsea and with the Blues facing Manchester City in their next game, Tottenham could further close the gap down on their rivals in the latest round of midweek games.
The 23-year-old is the top scorer for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and has scored 24 goals in all competitions this season and will be a welcome return for the side. Playing Son Heung-min up top has worked for Spurs but Kane gives them a different threat at the top.
The early return of Kane would also mean that the Vincent Janssen might not be given a lot of playing time. It was expected that Janssen would finally have a chance to show he is ready to help Spurs out with a few goals but Kane’s early return would certainly end any hopes of that occurring.
It does seem like a miraculous recovery for the England striker. The injury was pretty similar to the one he picked up at the start of the season which kept him out for seven weeks. Fortunately, it seems that the injury isn’t as bad as expected and Kane will be part of the first team soon.
