Wilfried Zaha

Tottenham could be handed a big boost in their chase to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace. The former Manchester United winger has been one of the best players for the Eagles and is reportedly in line for a bumper £100,000-a-week deal to make him stay at the club next season.

However, The Sun reports that Zaha is ready for another crack at a big club and that is great news for Spurs. It is being reported that the former England international is ready to decline the bumper deal from Palace and will consider a summer move next season.

Zaha has been exceptional for the Eagles as he has scored six goals and has provided nine assists this season. The 24-year-old was on fire at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea were handed a surprise defeat by Palace over the weekend. The Ivorian scored one goal, assisted the other and had other chances to do more damage.

Quality attacker needed at Tottenham

Tottenham have been searching for quality players on the wings and they seem certain to sell more than a couple of players from their first team next season. N’jie, Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko are the players that won’t find a place in the first team next season and Zaha would be a decent addition to a young and energetic Tottenham side.

There are concerns that the pressure of playing for a big club will affect the Ivory Coast international once again. Zaha did secure a big money move to Manchester United a few years ago. But he struggled to perform for the Red Devils and was eventually sold to Palace.

Playing under lower expectations might be working for Zaha at the moment but if he does want to make a big name for himself, he will have to move to a club chasing Champions League football.

Tottenham do have one of the brightest managers in the world in Mauricio Pochettino. And the Argentine’s track record of doing well with young players does provide expectations of Zaha reaching his full potential at White Hart Lane.
