Dele Alli

Tottenham fans can breathe a sigh of relief basis the latest reports coming from the Daily Mail. The outlet claims that the Premier League side will be retaining their English star Dele Alli in the summer.

Alli, who signed from MK Dons, has come leaps and bounds under Mauricio Pochettino and has become an integral part of the Tottenham side.

The 20-year-old has been in inspired form this season too and has notched up 18 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions this season. That kind of form has attracted the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City for a £50m move. The report claims that there could be a bidding war for the attack-minded player in the summer.

Even though Alli had signed a new contract extension earlier in the season, a move to Madrid is tough to turn down, especially when they are willing to pay a price that Spurs would want. They do have history of selling Gareth Bale and Luka Modric to Madrid but it seems that Alli will not be playing for the La Liga side next season.

The report states that the pair of clubs listed above aren’t interested in Alli anymore and will switch their efforts in signing other players.

That will be great news for Spurs as they look to close the campaign on a high, hopefully with the FA Cup in the bag.

They don’t have Harry Kane playing as of yet but Alli has certainly taken his game to another level and was on the score sheet in the win against Swansea. The youngster will be crucial to any chances Tottenham have of not only the FA Cup but also chasing Chelsea down at the top of the Premier League.

Spurs will now be able to plan ahead for the upcoming season as they look to build on this campaign. And with Alli sticking around, they certainly will be a force to reckon with for years to come.
