Fans Can Breathe A Sigh Of Relief As Tottenham Are Poised To Complete Summer Transfer For £30m Frenchman

Moussa Sissoko of Tottenham

It’s safe to say that Moussa Sissoko hasn’t been the best of signings by Mauricio Pochettino. The France international has been a waste of money and hasn’t really been able to adjust to playing for the high-flying Tottenham side.

Big things were expected of the former Newcastle man but there is some good news on the horizon as L’Equipe report that the 27-year-old will leave the side due to lack of first-team football.

We are required to pay £30million in 5 instalments for the midfielder with £6m paid at the start of this season and if we end up selling him anything above the £6m we paid, it still would be a profit for the club. The reason Sissoko is expected to leave is due to the World Cup year coming up and despite being in the Euro 2016 side for the French team, his place is not a surety for the next tournament.

Sissoko started just eight Premier League games this season and it is a surprise that we did so well with one or two of our big money signings failing spectacularly. The Frenchman did start in the 6-1 win over Leicester City but it has come too little too late and he could leave.

Our Verdict

We would all be glad to see the back of the Frenchman and to be honest, he probably wouldn’t mind leaving given the lack of chances he would get next season. We do have a great side at the moment and there is no place for a player that just cannot get up to speed.

What will be tense is the waiting period before Sissoko is sold and the longer it takes the more worrying it would be for us. Poch does have work on his hands in the summer and the first one would be to let go of Sissoko and bring in someone who can do a better job next season.
