Dele Alli

Dele Alli has once again admitted that he would not think too much about a move away from Tottenham, as he continues to be linked with some of the heavyweights in European football like Real Madrid. Alli has been yet another sensational story at Tottenham, as he has managed to progress from relative unknowns into one of the top central midfielders in European football.

His contributions almost helped Spurs to win the first league title in several decades. As expected, he has been linked with a multi-million pound moves to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Such exotic destinations may have a lot of pulling power, but the midfielder says that he is just focused on his time with Spurs. He said:

“It’s not really something I am thinking about too much.

The 21-year-old says that too many people make the mistake of thinking excessively about the future and this causes them to miss out on the joys of the present. Alli is not willing to make the same mistake, as he is ready to enjoy his time at Spurs. Recently, Manchester City have also been linked with a move for the 21-year-old, especially after Pep Guardiola claimed that he is an admirer of the midfielder. Even though Guardiola went on to say that Alli is not a club transfer target, it has not prevented transfer rumours cropping up all of a sudden.

Even though Alli has a contract with Spurs until June 2022, other clubs have received motivation to sign the player since he is relatively warning much less than his market value suggest. Alli is on a contract worth around £50,000 per week, which is nowhere near the figure that he could earn at some of the competitors. While Dani Levy’s stance on the wages has been criticised a lot, the hard-negotiating chairman is not ready to change his views. As a result, the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli continue to remain underpaid by market values.

Alli had a remarkable campaign after managing to come up with 22 goals and 13 assists in 50 appearances last season. This remains as an incredible record, and the club have been able to take complete advantage – along with Harry Kane’s immense contribution – to finish second in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League automatically once again. Even after Alli’s statements, one can be sure that the player will continue to be linked with a move elsewhere.
