Former Tottenham Midfielder Urges Side To Buy These Two Premier League Stars

Former Tottenham player Micky Hazard has come out and told the club to sign Joshua King of Bournemouth and Ross Barkley of Everton. The former midfielder was quoted by talkSPORT (h/t IBTimes) where he gave his reasoning for King to join us.

The Norwegian did have a great second half to the season and ended up with 16 goals for the Cherries as they staved off relegation once again. The former Manchester United striker could be a great understudy to our talisman Harry Kane according to Hazard and would also be a cheap option given that he would be available around the £15 million mark. Hazard was quoted as saying:

“You’re not going to attract a £50 million, £60 million player to cover for Harry Kane.

“[Joshua] King is one of the players I’ve been advocating going out and getting. He scores goals, he’s quick, he’s powerful, he’s strong. He’s slightly different to Harry.

“What we didn’t want was two Harrys – obviously we’d have two Harrys of course – but we want someone who would complement him too. So King would be perfect.”

Of course, we need someone who can do the job when Kane needs a bit of a rest and if King is willing to stay on the bench for a number of games, he would be a great option to have.

Barkley a great signing for Hazard

Ross Barkley

We all know the quality that Ross Barkley has but it is his consistency that would be a major problem. Hazard, for his part, believes that training under Mauricio Pochettino would be the best for the Englishman and that would greatly help his cause even in the English setup. He said:

“Ross Barkley for me would be another great signing.

“I’d love to see Barkley under Pochettino’s regime. The way Poch trains the boys, gets their fitness levels up, the way he works on his press and high press and what have you.

“Barkley, under that, I’m sure could progress lovely and it would benefit England as well.”

The signature for Barkley has been an on-off experience as we have been linked majorly with the player but we haven’t been making a lot of noise in the transfer window, which will be a fear for many.

Barkley would certainly be a good addition to the squad but Poch has to work hard on the Everton man if he is to extract the best out of him. We have to be diligent in our transfers this time and not waste our budget on players who don’t fit in like Moussa Sissoko.
