Manchester City teenage striker Kelechi Iheanacho has been given permission to seek greener pastures this summer. The 20-year-old striker has already garnered a lot of overseas interest, with European giants AS Monaco and Borussia Dortmund leading the long list of suitors.

Domestically too, Iheanacho has received enough interest, with Leicester City showing intent in acquiring the talented striker. After a disappointing season last year, the Foxes are looking to strengthen their forward line and the City striker fits the bill perfectly.

In recent weeks, Leicester have moved ahead of the queue and it was supposed to be a matter of time before they signed the striker. That was until now, as Tottenham have reportedly entered the fray.

Reports from The Sun indicate that Tottenham could yet make things difficult for the Foxes as they feel they may have a chance of hijacking the deal due to City’s interest in right-back Kyle Walker.

Pep Guardiola started the summer with a mandate of overhauling his entire back four. So City’s interest in Walker should work out to Tottenham’s advantage who can now speed up their process of offloading the Englishman by landing Iheanacho. Mauricio Pochettino’s quest for a backup to Harry Kane is well documented and it is believed that the young striker could be the answer.

City boss admires Walker and sees him as a valuable addition to his squad. But the clubs have gone nowhere as they stay miles apart in their valuations. The England international is valued by Spurs at £50million, which the Manchester club feels, is over the top.

However, things could change now, as the interest from other side in Iheanacho could hasten Walker’s move to the Etihad Stadium. The 20-year-old had a break out season two years ago when he burst on to the scenes, scoring 14 goals for City.

Last year was a frustrating one though, as lack of games and a continuous run resulted in the youngster not shining in the limited chances that he got. 8 goals in 9 starts is not a bad return but the yearning for regular action is spurring his move out of the club.

  1. Tottenham have zero chance of hijacking this deal, he wants to come here because of Ndidi so he won’t be changing his mind to go to Spurs, where again his game time will be limited to sub appearances.

Levy also won’t agree to the buy back clause and will expect more than £50m because he seems to think Spurs players are special and aren’t available for transfer like every other player from every other club from every other league. I mean £200m for Kane is just crazy talk but Levy believes it.

Spurs are crap in the transfer market and Leicester won’t be hijacked on this deal, not a chance, just like Maguire.
