Tottenham striker Harry Kane is “worth more than 200 million” according to former England striker Emile Heskey. The former Three Lions striker was speaking to sportingbet.com when he shared his opinion.
The England international striker is in great form for Tottenham, having racked up 13 goals and 3 assists in 14 games for the club this season. The 24-year-old is looking good for another ‘Golden Boot’ season in the Premier League.
His form for the club and country has prompted top European clubs to follow his progress and be consistently linked with a transfer. Reports over the past month indicate how Real Madrid have made him their top target, especially after his performance against them in the Champions League.
There were reports that the Los Blancos could be contemplating a world-record for the striker to make him their next ‘Galactico’ and Heskey believes that Kane would be worth every penny that Madrid might plan to spend.
As per the former Liverpool striker, Kane is worth more than what Paris Saint-Germain are scheduled to pay for teenage striker Kylian Mbappe.
“Harry Kane is worth more than Kylian Mbappe,”
He is also confident that given the history of Daniel Levy in maximising the value of Spurs players in the transfer market, Kane could fetch more than £200m. But, he also feels that Spurs would fight tooth and nail to keep their star player within their ranks.
“Tottenham have a long history of getting the maximum transfer fee when selling their players. Harry Kane could even break the £200m mark if he continues in this form because Tottenham will fight tooth and nail to keep him.”
Heskey goes on to add that there is nothing that should let Kane leave the White Hart Lane. He is spot on, in this regard. Gone are the days when clubs simply came to Tottenham and signed our best players. The ambition at the club is to challenge for titles and compete with top clubs in England and Europe.
Having said that, it would be difficult for Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino to keep hold of Kane if they continue being the bridesmaid. It is high time we start winning some titles and once we do that, there is no way even clubs like Real Madrid can poach Kane.
