Mousa Dembele

Italian giants AC Milan are interested in signing Tottenham midfield general Mousa Dembele, and that is according to a reliable Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Writing on his personal website, the journalist has claimed that the Rossoneri have been alerted by the fact that the Belgian is just 18 months away from running out of a contract and no positive talks about the same have been initiated by either the club or by the player’s representatives. Furthermore, Pedulla has indeed quoted that Milan are considering a move, but whether it will be in January or next summer is still unknown.

From the player’s perspective, it is hard to see him quitting Tottenham midway through the season given that the Lilywhites have been drawn to play Juventus in the Round of 16 of the Champions League. But Dembele has endured a mixed season so far and has been plagued by several injuries. This is the major reason why Milan are interested in acquiring his services in the first place. Injuries mean the Belgian’s game time has been hampered big time and this has been a massive disappointment this season.

If the inconsistency, regarding the fitness, continues at least until next summer, a sustainable bid from the Italians can well and truly be expected given that he will enter the final year of his contract by then and Tottenham will be left on the edge of their seats to make a quick decision.

Milan spent heavily in the summer in order to make a complete overhaul and bring the Rossoneri to where they belong but with results getting thin, a few changes to the current crop can be expected over the next summer.

It is highly unlikely that Spurs would be willing to let Dembele go, yet it remains to be seen what lies ahead of the player given that he will only have a year left on his current Tottenham contract in the summer.
