Tottenham Ready To Complete Deal For Winger – Pochettino Gives Green Signal If £30m Price Tag Is Accepted

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly ready to listen to the offers of £30million for Moussa Sissoko just 18 months after signing midfielder from Newcastle United.

The 28-year-old midfielder joined Tottenham back in 2016 after famously rejecting Everton but has hardly done anything to get into the good books of the Tottenham faithful. With him being only a back-up now, a report from the Daily Mirror has claimed that Pochettino is now ready to offload him but only for the same fee he bought him for.

The Argentine is said to be keen on increasing the depth in his squad this month and in doing so, he is ready to sacrifice Sissoko in the process. The Frenchman, even at the time of joining, seemed to be a gamble given that he was highly inconsistent during his time with the Magpies, but Pochettino, on his part, was convinced about his ability and reacted faster than Everton to acquire his signature.

A former Magpie, Sissoko could only manage 8 Premier League games last season and although he has improved his numbers – 11 starts thus far –  he has hardly been impressive. Pochettino is said to have watched enough and is now ready to offload him if a potential suitor does contact him with a viable offer.

Given Sissoko’s current form, it is difficult to see any team agreeing to Tottenham’s terms of paying £30million for his services. Talking numbers, the Frenchman went goalless for the entire Premier League season last term and has been highly unconvincing in the current campaign as well; despite having scored a goal this season.

Furthermore, as things stand for the Tottenham fans, they have time and again expressed that they want Pochettino to sell the Frenchman but it now remains to be seen whether the Argentine will really sanction the sale or not. Meanwhile, in terms of transfers, Tottenham are said to be targeting Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez who is likely to leave the King Power this month or in the next transfer window. If his services are indeed acquired, Sissoko might see himself getting a ticket out of Wembley.

  1. Maher’s, would be a wonderful buy for Spurs he is fast and a proven goal scorer.
But, if we are expected to sell Sissoko first to have enough money to buy him then
Mr Pochettino favourite and worst purchase will still be at Spurs and we will still be looking for another Mahrez. Yes, I know we have a stadium to pay for but if we are not in the Champions League then it reall could be down to Levy not finding the cash for Mahrez. We are always slow off the mark and that’s why we ended up with Sissoko who even my wife a Newcastle fan could have told Pochettino that he was useless and only tried when he felt like it. Let’s be honest Pochettino is not a good judge of players when it comes to buying them. Sissoko. Llorente and a couple of French wingers. This is not a good record for someone who’s crown has fallen from his head. Just put your hands up and say I could have bought a really TOP player
Who would have fitted into our team with all that wasted money. No wonder Levy
will only give you a little pocket money to spend since it’s clear he doesn’t trust your judgement on buying players and who can blame him with your record and then still keep playing them to try and prove yourself right.
For the record, Mr Pochetino you treated Janssen appalling and if he had been given half as much game time as Sissoko he would have shown you to be wrong.
But, I suppose you will still have your favourites and try and buy another player you know from Spain who speaks Argentine.

  2. I couldn’t have said it better im even sure your would be a better player than SISSOKO lol spurs got two hopes bob hope and no hope of selling sissoko im even Chinese would have him…..the takeaway im talking about.lool
