Borussia Dortmund have reportedly launched a bid for Bordeaux’s talented forward Malcom, who has also been linked with a move to Premier League clubs. The Brazilian was the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal last month but the player chose to stay put at Bordeaux.

However, earlier this month, the 21-year-old has already been told by his club that he is free to leave at the end of this season.

“I already said I wanted to leave this winter for a new challenge. But I also have to remind myself that Bordeaux have helped me a lot,” Malcom told UOL.

“I have given my word to Bordeaux that I’ll continue so as to be able to have more time to choose my future club.

“These three or four months will make a big difference. Yes, Bordeaux have given me their word I can leave in June. I’m going to choose my next club and Bordeaux will let me leave.”

After the Brazilian’s comments earlier this month, Dortmund have joined the race to sign him in the summer, according to The Sun.

The Bundesliga club have lost the services of Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona and Arsenal respectively. They are now trying to sign Malcom as Dembele’s replacement in summer.

Malcom is considered as one of the finest young talents across Europe, making a name for himself in Ligue 1 after leaving Corinthians in January 2016 after starring for Brazil’s youth teams. The talented wide player has impressed by scoring 8 times and assisting 6 in all competitions this season.

The report adds that Bordeaux are destined to losing Malcom at the end of the season but are demanding more than £50million for their prized asset, who has been in scintillating form.

If Mauricio Pochettino is planning to bring the 21-year-old attacker to North London, he is expected to face some stiff competition from the likes of Dortmund, Bayern and Arsenal. This certainly doesn’t make things easier for Spurs to get Malcom at the end of this campaign.
