Harry Kane has won the Player of the Year prize at the London Football Awards, our club has confirmed through their official Twitter account.
Spurs tweeted: “@HKane has been named Premier League Player of the Year at the London Football Awards, in aid of @Willow_FDN #LFA18 #OneOfOurOwn”
The England international has enjoyed another fantastic 12 months, entering the Premier League 100-goal bandwagon earlier this year.
Kane also enjoyed an outstanding 2017, outscoring Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and every other player across Europe’s top-five leagues, with 56 goals for club and country.
The 24-year-old beat Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta, Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace and teammates Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min to the prize.
Kane deserved to win the award as our striker has shattered records left, right and centre with ease and poise. He has taken his game to a very different level this season and the number of goals he has scored to help Spurs win a lot of games single-handedly simply speak volumes.
Kane currently sits on top of the pile with 24 league goals, just one in front of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, with 10 games remaining.
But while Kane would be hungry to add the Golden Boot to his growing collection of personal accolades, the striker has already insisted he wants to win trophies with Tottenham.
Delighted after seeing Kane bag the Player of the Year prize at the London Football Awards, this is how our fanbase reacted on Twitter.
