According to Goal.com, Gonzalo Higuain will play for Juventus when they face off against us in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 clash, however, Mario Mandzukic is set to miss the game.
After successfully training with the Old Lady on Tuesday, Mandzukic has been declared fit to face off against us. The 30-year-old scored a brace and missed a penalty during last month’s 2-2 draw in Turin and missed his sides last two games through injury.
Mandzukic meanwhile will not be among the 21-man Juventus squad. We will be the favorites to advance to the quarter-finals thanks to the two vital away goals.
Juve have a stubborn defence, however, they will have no choice but to attack us during the second leg and they will have to try and beat us at the Wembley Stadium which is a difficult task, even for the biggest clubs in world football.
Pochettino’s m, however, cannot underestimate the Italian giants and if we are not on our feet on the day, we could suffer.
We will also have to successfully deal with the threat of Higuain who is the Old Lady’s top scorer this season with 20 goals in all competitions.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side will also head into the second leg full of confidence after not suffering a defeat during any of their last 20 games in all competitions.
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas believes that we have enough quality to see out the game against the Italian giants and he wrote:
“You’d understand Mauricio Pochettino contemplating playing two holding midfielders to protect their advantage, but I think he’ll want to do it with a bit of style, thinking he doesn’t need to change the way his team play. I do expect Spurs to finish the job after being so impressive in Turin but I do expect there to be that edge to the tie where they have to come through another testing spell.”
