According to Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato), Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Napoli starlet Amadou Diawara as a possible replacement for midfielder Mousa Dembele.

Dembele has a contract with Tottenham until 2019 and has been recently linked with a move to Italian heavyweights Juventus. Tottenham are hence looking at possible midfield replacements and according to the report, one of the players we are eyeing is Napoli midfielder, Amadou Diawara.

Diawara is an exciting midfield prospect. The 20-year-old has been at Napoli since 2016 and made a fine start to his life at Naples by making 28 appearances in all competitions in his debut season under Maurizio Sarri. However, the Guinean has failed to live up to the expectations despite scoring one and assisting once in 24 games in all competitions this term, according to Calciomercato.

Dembele has endured an injury-hit campaign and after struggling for form, he eventually found it last month. The 30-year-old has dished out some impressive performances in the midfield for Spurs, thereby justifying his value in the current Tottenham side.

As far as Diawara is concerned, the Guinean is one of the hottest prospects in the Serie A but has struggled to lay down a marker this term. I feel Spurs should at least wait for another year before making a move for him.
