Claudio Ranieri’s greatest achievement will undoubtedly be the miraculous Premier League title win with Leicester City back in 2016. Despite being dubbed as an ‘underdog team’, the Foxes went on to mount a stupendous title challenge and ended the season on the back of a much-deserved victory.
However, Ranieri was sacked shortly after and the Frenchman is now serving as the manager of Nantes. Despite his exploits in the English top-flight, Ranieri has failed to do much for Nantes and the club are without a win in their last 7 games.
Now, things at our end have been far from smooth lately. We blew away a good chance of winning the FA Cup this season as we endured a terrible defeat to Manchester United in the semi-final.
Although we have performed consistently over the last few seasons, the lack of silverware prevents us from being regarded as a European great.
That said, good things come to those who wait. Mauricio Pochettino might not have won trophies yet but that does not undermine what he has done for the club so far.
A decade back, we might not have imagined we would be where we are today. It took time, patience and hard work for us to be here.
It remains to be seen if there is any truth to the Ranieri rumours but it would be criminal to get rid of a manager like Pochettino. As far as winning trophies are concerned, it is important to remember that Rome was not built in a day.
