Danny Rose of Tottenham

In recent times, there has been plenty of speculation about Danny Rose’s future as rumours emerged about a possible transfer to Manchester United. But if a recent report from the Mirror is anything to go by, it looks like the Red Devils have cooled their interest in the left-back.

However, the report goes on to say that Merseyside outfit Everton have entered the playing field to acquire Rose’s signature. The Toffees have managed to spark a late resurgence under Sam Allardyce and will finish in the top-ten this season but with the summer window coming up, it is crucial for the club to drop some cash and strengthen a few areas.

The left-back continues to be a problem position for Everton since they need to find a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.

Although he has provided good service over the years, it is nearly time for him to hang up his boots. At 33 years of age, Baines lacks the speed and agility required for that role and the Mirror claims that Everton are eyeing Rose as a worthy option.

As far as Tottenham are concerned, Rose has failed to make much of an impact this term. He has constantly been in and out of injuries and Ben Davies’ dominance has prevented him from getting adequate game time even when fit.

The report claims that we could demand a fee in the region of £37million for Rose and if Everton decide to pay that sum, it would certainly help us financially.
