Mousa Dembele’s future has been up in the air for a while now. The midfielder’s contract will expire next summer and that has led to a lot of speculation about a potential transfer. According to reports in Italy, it looks like his next destination could be Italy.
Both clubs could use a player like him and if the reports are true, it remains to be seen which one he prefers to move to.
As far as his situation at Tottenham is concerned, it goes without saying that the £80,000-a-week star is a key player for us. There has been no headway when it comes to him signing a new contract and in that case, it would be better for Spurs to sell him now instead of losing him for free next year.
Dembele is undoubtedly one of the most hardworking midfielders in the Premier League and in the recent season, he established a strong partnership with Eric Dier in the middle of the park.
In his absence, we will have to rely upon the likes of Victor Wanyama, Harry Winks and Dier unless Mauricio Pochettino decides to bring in a new face.
Nevertheless, if Dembele were to move to Serie A, it would be a good move for the talented Belgian. Losing him would create a void in our squad but given the circumstances, it will be a win-win situation irrespective of whether he joins Inter Milan or Napoli.
