Tottenham release the list of players who would be travelling to Russia for the World Cup

Tottenham stars

A number of Tottenham stars will feature in the 2018 World Cup as national pride takes over for a few weeks. Club allegiances will go out the window as we could see a number of tasty ties in the coming weeks, with one major clash being England vs Belgium in the group stage.

France are one of the favourites for the title and we will see Hugo Lloris joining them as they look to beat the likes of Brazil and Germany to the title.

Davinson Sanchez also made the cut to the World Cup squad of Colombia as the central defender had a wonderful first season for Tottenham. He seems to be getting better with each game under his belt.

Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen will be flying high for South Korea and Denmark respectively, and both sides could spring a surprise. However, the real battle will be between England and Belgium.

A recent Twitter update from the Spurs handle highlighted which of our players would be making the trip to Russia.

Spurs’ attack vs Spurs’ defence

The England squad features Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier. Not to be outdone, the Belgian side consists of three Spurs players in Mousa Dembele, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

This clash between the two giants in Group G could decide which team finishes first to avoid a tough opponent in the first knockout round.

This would also possibly see the best attack pair in the Premier League, Alli and Kane, facing what could be one of the best defensive pairings at the World Cup, Alderweireld and Vertonghen.

All in all, this is going to be an exciting clash and hopefully, all our players shine in the tournament and come back injury free.
