Mousa Dembele

Tottenham have accepted a bid of $40million for Mousa Dembele from an unnamed Chinese club, according to reports.

RMC Sport (h/t NBC Sports) also claims that the 30-year-old Dembele will decide on his future after the World Cup, since he is part of the Belgian squad in Russia.

Juventus is another club interested in signing the Belgian as they want to have backup for the pair of Sami Khedira and Blaise Matuidi.

Spurs, for their part, want to sell Dembele rather than giving him a new contract which would extend his stay at the club.

It was quite a difficult season for Dembele last time around as his campaign was littered with niggling injuries. The 30-year-old midfielder would always start for us when fit but only started 21 league games last time around and was brought on as a substitute in seven other games.

Dembele would have just one more year in his current contract and would be a free agent at the end of the next campaign, so it would make sense for us to sell him now rather than let him go for free.

The 30-year-old certainly is one of the best midfielders when fit but his age and injuries seem to be catching up on him and hopefully, we can do the right thing and come out on top in this situation.

Juventus are masters when it comes to buying players on the cheap and hopefully, that will not take place with regards to Dembele next season.
