Manchester United are playing hardball regarding Anthony Martial as the club have slapped a £75million price tag on the French striker, according to The Mirror.
Martial’s agent had recently stated that his agent wanted out of the club and that seemed to be in line for us given that we are reportedly interested in the 22-year-old.
While Martial is not in the France squad, there is a lot of interest in the former Monaco man as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are tracking the youngster.
The reason why United are putting a £75million price-tag on the 22-year-old is to ward off interest from other clubs and ensure that the player stays at the club for the future.
The French forward has two years remaining on his contract with the Manchester giants and Ed Woodward is not willing to let go of the youngster this early.
Martial has struggled to make a mark for Jose Mourinho despite being one of the brightest talents in the world of football.
The 22-year-old only made 18 starts in the Premier League last season but still scored 12 goals across all competitions.
It should not come as a surprise that United want to get as much as they want for the quality youngster. The Red Devils would obviously prefer to sell their French forward to a club outside England. If United are not willing to budge on their price, it would be pretty difficult for us to sign Martial.
Hopefully, we can negotiate the price for the Frenchman with the club and if anyone can push the deal towards Tottenham, it is Martial and his agent.
