Wilfried Zaha

Crystal Palace are going to offer Wilfried Zaha a new deal to ensure he stays at the club for the foreseeable future, according to The Mirror.

The Ivorian has been linked with a move to Tottenham but the report claims Palace will provide him with a weekly pay of more than £120,000 to fend off any interest from Spurs.

The other clubs who have been linked with a move for Zaha in the past include Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Zaha is expected to become the highest earner at the club, replacing former Liverpool and Aston Villa man, Christian Benteke. The 25-year-old was instrumental in keeping Palace in the Premier League last season as he scored 9 times and provided 3 assists in 29 matches.

The report also claims that Zaha had signed a new deal worth £100,000-a-week to remain at Palace last season. However, the new deal would be worth a lot more than what Tottenham would be looking to pay for the former Manchester United man.

Zaha was the one reason why Palace somehow avoided relegation despite losing all nine league games in which the 25-year-old did not take part.

The 25-year-old could have been a decent signing for us but Palace have been playing hard-ball and could even ask for £70million according to ex-palace chief Simon Jordan.

Zaha might be a good player but he is not world-class yet and spending that amount of money could get us better quality from another league.

Hopefully, we do not spend this sort of money on the former United man and instead look at better alternatives.
