Mousa Dembele seems to be set for a move away from Tottenham but the Belgian did reveal that he will not be moving to a Premier League rival.
The Belgian had a poor season last time around due to injuries and was speaking to Het Laatste Niews (h/t Evening Standard) and said:
“I won’t say that I’m leaving Spurs right now. Or that I’m staying. If I leave, I won’t join another English club. Spurs is my team.”
This might come as a bit of a blow as some fans were hopeful that the 30-year-old would stay. However, with one year left on his deal, it might make sense to move him onto another club and earn a bit of cash for the player.
The Chinese Super League and the MLS seem to be a couple of realistic options for the Belgian midfielder and the pace of the leagues will be much slower for the midfield master.
