Christian Eriksen has been one of the better players for Denmark in their World Cup and that seems to have caught the attention of Barcelona and Luis Suarez in particular.

The Dane has been linked with a move to Barcelona in the past and now reports from Spain claim that Suarez wants the La Liga side to buy the Tottenham star.

Don Balon (h/t Daily Star) claims that the Barcelona management were impressed by Luka Modric in Croatia’s 3-0 win over Argentina and see the Danish star as a player similar in stature. There is also the factor of replacing Andres Iniesta, who will be joining Vissel Kobe in July.

Eriksen scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists for us this past season in the Premier League and carried similar form into the World Cup too.

The report also claims that we have slapped a price of €100m to keep suitors away from the Danish star but Suarez and the rest of the team have told Barcelona to do everything they can to get the player over to the Camp Nou.

Christian Eriksen

Eriksen is certainly one of the best players in the Premier League and his stock keeps rising with every performance on the pitch.

The Danish star can play in a number of positions and he would be a great addition to Barcelona given their style of play.

However, we cannot think about losing the 26-year-old as he is one of the key components of our young side and replacing him would not be an easy task in the transfer market. We have to keep hold of Eriksen at all costs and with Daniel Levy on our side, that seems like a distinct possibility.
