Manchester United will not be parting with Anthony Martial on the cheap and would want more than £56m for the 22-year-old Frenchman as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
Martial wants to leave United and his agent had stated that the Frenchman wants to play football elsewhere, with Tottenham being one of the clubs interested in the former Monaco man.
United purchased Martial for a fee of £36million in 2015 and the fee for the highly-rated striker rose to £44.4m after his 25th United goal which triggered an additional payment of £8.4m.
The deal for Martial with Monaco is for a fee rising to £56m and United, based on the current market conditions, value the youngster much higher than that.
United are locked in another transfer battle with us as Toby Alderweireld also is a player that could switch clubs come the start of the new season.
We seem to be holding out for a large fee too for the Belgian and that seems to have been the catalyst for this latest price for Martial. Paying £56m might not be a bad deal if we can somehow get the best out of Martial at our new home.

Martial has a lot of potential and if anyone can unlock it, that has to be Mauricio Pochettino. Our Argentine manager has worked wonders with a number of players at the club and Martial could be another one who could reach a new level at Tottenham.
