Tottenham in pole position to sign midfielder who could give competition for Dele Alli’s starting place

The Mirror claims that Tottenham are willing to bid an irresistible amount for Jack Grealish and sign the player up after Liverpool decided not to go for the Aston Villa man.

The 22-year-old Grealish has been linked with a move away from the Championship club after they failed to make it to the Premier League.

Grealish is currently training with the Aston Villa squad in Portugal but is expected to become a Tottenham player soon.

The report claims that Grealish will have to wait a while for the deal to go through as Daniel Levy is trying to exploit the financial crises at Villa.

Tottenham are expected to offer the 22-year-old midfielder a five-year deal and substantially increase his £20,000-a-week salary.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign the 22-year-old midfielder as he expects Grealish to provide competition for Dele Alli.

Grealish would be a decent signing for the side as he ticks all the boxes that can make him a success at Tottenham. The Englishman is young, talented and would only get better under the guidance of Pochettino.

The 22-year-old might not get a lot of first-team minutes after signing for the club but he can get some decent playing time as our midfielders would be rotated and rested next season.

Pochettino can unlock Grealish’s potential next season if we can wrap up the deal quickly and with us yet to make a signing in the summer window, we should start off with the Englishman’s capture.
