“We will not renew with Tottenham” – Spurs star’s father makes a bold claim regarding player’s future

Fernando Llorente will not be signing a new deal with Tottenham even if we offer him one, according to his father Chus Llorente.

The Spaniard was speaking to the Calcio Napoli 24 website (h/t football.london) and categorically denied that his son would sign a new deal with us.

“No, absolutely, we will not renew with Tottenham.”

Chus even added that the player might be interested in moving to Italian giants Napoli but there was no interest from the Serie A club at the moment.

“Of course, we would be honoured to deal with the Blues because we are talking about one of the top Italian football clubs.

“We are talking about a top club, it would be a great honour if it was true that Napoli are interested in Fernando.”

Llorente has not had a great time at Tottenham since making the move from Swansea and only scored 5 goals for us in all competitions last time around. The Spaniard has mostly been used as a substitute and it would not be a major blow for us if we do sell him off.

Maybe we can give a young striker a chance to perform in Kane’s place or we could even bring in another striker who could be more prolific when the Englishman is rested.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out as the Spurs hierarchy would not be pleased with the agent of a player coming out and saying such things to the media. This could be one way to ensure Llorente gets to leave Tottenham and he won’t be missed by us.
