Andre Gomes is ready to leave Barcelona and join Tottenham, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t football.london). The former Valencia man has not had the best of times since joining Barcelona and has even been excluded from the pre-season tour of America.

The report claims that a number of clubs are interested in the 24-year-old, with Arsenal being another Premier League club keeping a tab on him.

Juventus and Arsenal are thought to be closest to signing the midfielder, however, the Portugal man prefers a move to Spurs.

Gomes prefers a move to the Premier League and we did try to sign the midfielder last season but could not complete a deal for the 24-year-old.

It does seem like the former Valencia man is short of confidence as he struggled for starts last season at the Nou Camp. Gomes didn’t even register a single assist or goal for the side despite playing 29 games for the La Liga champions.

While the player might not be in the best of forms, the 24-year-old does have a lot of potential and maybe a move to another league would boost his confidence.

Pochettino does know how to get the best out of players and if he can turn Gomes’ career around, it would be quite an achievement.

Gomes might not cost a lot given that he has been in poor form and didn’t even make it to the Portugal side for the World Cup, so we could try to bid low for the Barcelona man.
