Tottenham would have to now pay a premium price for Jack Grealish of Aston Villa as Steve Bruce claimed he could not predict the value of the 22-year-old midfielder.
Grealish had been linked with a move to Tottenham but Birmingham Live reports that Daniel Levy was playing the waiting game in hopes of signing the player on the cheap due to Villa’s financial issues.
The report now claims that Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have completed their takeover of the Championship club and even though they might have to sell players, Bruce claimed it would be on their terms.
Birmingham Live quoted Bruce as saying:
“If we have to sell them then at least we get the right price for them and can move forward.
“When you’re up against it and hanging your dirty washing out in public then the vultures are circling and ready to nick your assets.
“At least that’s not going to be the case – well I know that’s not going to be the case – because I’ve had that conversation already.
“So if anybody is going to buy one of our players now they are going to have to pay a premium.”
The report also claims that Levy was trying to sign Grealish for a fee of just £15million. However, Bruce was quick to add that anyone looking to sign the player up will not be able to do so on the cheap.
“I know for a fact from the owners – new investors – anybody wanting to buy Jack Grealish will not buy him on the cheap.”

This would be a huge blow for us as we still have not brought in a single player this summer.
While Grealish would not be a starter for us, he would provide a lot of cover for our midfield and could blossom into a quality player in the coming years.
