Wilfried Zaha

Tottenham’s hopes of signing Wilfried Zaha have been given a jolt as the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are looking set to sign the 25-year-old winger.

Crystal Palace had offered their star man a contract worth £125,000-a-week to keep him at the club but Zaha turned it down. The Daily Mail further claims that the Blues are willing to offer him much more but will have to pay a huge sum to bring the Ivorian to Stamford Bridge.

The report also claims that Everton made a bid for the former Manchester United man. However, Zaha turned it down.

He seems to be settled in London and that could work in our favour as we look to kick-start our summer business.

The Ivorian was a major reason why Palace survived relegation now and the club would only sell their star for a crazy amount.

Zaha has proven to be a match winner for Palace but it will be interesting to see how he would do at another top-four club.

Chelsea might be willing to offer him more money but we have the added attraction of the Champions League this season.

If Zaha intends to play for a team that is on the up, the choice would be moving to Tottenham. And with a few days left in the summer window, the club has to make some moves in the market.
