Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is not relaxed with the lack of transfers at the club and was unable to answer why Spurs have not signed any players this season.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Jack Grealish (h/t The Sun) but are not close to finalising a deal for the 22-year-old Aston Villa star.

Pochettino certainly was not alright with the situation but was quoted by The Sun as he made a case for trusting the existing team members.

“No I am not relaxed. I am a coach and when you are a coach you cannot be relaxed.

“You need to be confident and trust in the people that you have, and the way we work.”

The former Southampton manager also added that the club has to add more quality each season like how the rivals have done.

The manager also claimed that the young players could do a job in the creative department and that the club are working hard to sign players.

“Is there really a chance you could sign no players? Yes. We are working so hard but still we are like we were on the first day of the transfer window, with no signings.”

Pochettino also could not answer why the club did not sign players but was hopeful of things changing in the final week of the window.

“I think I am not the person to explain this. Of course people expect a manager to explain it. But in this situation for different reasons it has been difficult to add players who can help us. But you know in the last week can happen many things.”

The transfer window shuts up shop on Thursday and if we are to make the team stronger for the season, there has to be a lot of activity at the club in the coming days.

Most of our rivals have brought in players to strengthen the side and if we miss out on adding players to the side, there will be a lot of questions from the fans.
