Tottenham are interested in Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, according to the Mirror.
The 23-year-old Slovakian has a £31m release clause (h/t Mirror) in his contract. The Mirror also claims that the player’s club had stated that he wants to leave the La Liga side.
Lobotka had signed a new deal with Celta in February and is contracted with the side until 2023. Tottenham are not the only ones interested in the Slovakian, as the Mirror adds that Serie A giants Napoli are also interested in the defensive midfielder.
He played 40 games for the La Liga side last season but being a defensive-minded player, he did not rack up a single goal or assist for the team.
The Mirror claims that Mauricio Pochettino has been looking at the options available, as Mousa Dembele wants to leave the side before deadline day.
Spurs have been linked with a move for another midfielder in Jack Grealish (h/t the Mirror) but Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has stated that Tottenham would have to pay a premium to sign the 22-year-old Englishman.
Tottenham have not had the best of luck in the current transfer window, with no signings coming into the club so far. Mauricio Pochettino was quoted by the Metro as saying that the club are working hard in trying to bring in players.

The Argentine also added that he could not explain the situation to the fans. Should we not sign any player before the transfer deadline, there will be a lot of questions raised about Tottenham’s transfer policy.
