Tottenham have not been able to secure Christian Eriksen’s signature for a new deal according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that negotiations between the parties have been on for six months but the parties not close to an agreement as Eriksen wants to be paid at the same levels as Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris.

Kane agreed to a new contract with the club recently which could be worth £300,000 a week with bonuses as per the Daily Mail. The report further adds that Lloris received a pay rise due to him entering the third year of a contract he signed a couple of years ago.

The report adds that Eriksen has less than a couple of years on his current deal and Spurs want to tie him down for the future.

Eriksen is one of the main players at Tottenham and losing him would be a huge blow for the side. If we cannot sign tie him to a new deal soon, he could walk out for free in a couple of years.

The report claims that Eriksen knows his best seasons are yet to come and that gives him a strong position on the bargaining table. The report further adds the Dane is not willing to budge and wants to be rewarded for his performances over the years.

Eriksen is one of the best players in the world and we should do everything we can to extend his stay at the club.

With no fresh faces coming into the side in the summer, it is imperative we hold onto him and give him the contract that he wants as we look to win silverware at the club.
