Christian Eriksen reckons the clash against Liverpool is the perfect opportunity for Tottenham to bounce back.

Spurs suffered their first defeat of the season against Watford at Vicarage Road. We took the lead against the Hornets but goals from Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart ended our winning run and gave the home side their fourth win from four games.

Eriksen was quoted by the Daily Star as saying that he was disappointed with the result but expected Spurs to perform well against the Reds.

“We’re very disappointed. We want and expect to win every game and losing is not something we often do, luckily.

“We need to get back on track and do that against Liverpool. That’s the perfect occasion to come back and we’ll do that.”

The Dane added that the team didn’t expect Watford to score after we took the lead. Eriksen claimed that we had our chances to finish the tie off while the home side scored off two set-pieces.

Eriksen spoke about the United result and the ups and downs in football.

“The result against Man United [3-0 last week] was exceptional but we’re down to earth again. This is football, anything can happen in any game, it goes so quickly with ups and downs.”

Liverpool are one of three teams with a 100% winning record after four games and they will be tough opposition.

We ripped the Reds apart in the corresponding fixture last season and with the loss against the Hornets still stinging, Spurs must put up a fantastic display against the Premier League leaders.
