Former Liverpool and Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy believes that Tottenham Hotspur have found it difficult to strengthen their attack because of Harry Kane.

The Englishman is one of the best in the world and has won the Premier League Golden Boot twice in the last three years.

Bellamy was speaking on The Debate on Sky Sports (h/t Football.london) and claimed that strikers would stay away from Tottenham because of the Englishman.

“What some managers might say is ‘you’d be great for him because you can keep him on his toes and if you play and you train better, you’ll get your chance’.

“I (as a striker) ain’t taking that gamble, because I don’t think Spurs fans would accept it and I know the English media won’t accept it.

“You can’t have your golden boy sitting on the bench, it wouldn’t happen.

“So I know straight away I’m not being held responsible for that because he’s England’s future, he’s the one they’re all pinning their hopes on, he’s the one that gets goals.

“This is a battle any forward would want to stay away from.”

Tottenham signed Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente to provide cover for Kane but the pair has found goals tough to come by.

Janssen spent time at Fenerbahce on loan but he failed to score regularly while Llorente hasn’t done well for us since making the move from Swansea City.

It will always be difficult for someone to replace Kane in the starting XI but fortunately, the Englishman stays fit for almost the entire campaign and we can play Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min in his place.

Spurs need everyone to fire on all cylinders and if Kane bangs in the goals, a trophy could finally be coming under Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure.
