Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to land Anthony Martial by Betfair (h/t Mirror), with Arsenal second-in-line for the French attacker.
The report claims that the odds of Martial leaving the Red Devils have been slashed as the Frenchman has stopped contract talks with the club.
Martial wants to know about Jose Mourinho’s future, before extending his deal on a long-term basis (h/t Mirror). The report adds that the United manager was ready to sell the former Monaco star but the club refused to let the player leave.
Tottenham are 7/2 favourites to sign Martial while Arsenal are second at 11/2. Surprisingly, Juventus feature in the mix at 13/2 with Bayern Munich at 7/1 and Chelsea at 8/1, as per the report.
The 22-year-old, who joined United for a fee of £36m, isn’t a regular starter for the Red Devils and the Mirror adds that United want to extend his deal as they could risk losing him on a free at the end of the season.
The January window will be interesting for Spurs, given that we didn’t invest in any new signings in the summer.
Getting Martial on the cheap could turn out to be a great move in the winter window. The Frenchman has a lot of talent and we could see the best of him under Mauricio Pochettino.
Martial can play either as the striker or out wide, thus giving us a number of options in deploying him.
United will be tough to negotiate with but Daniel Levy would pull off a masterstroke if he can land the former Monaco man.
