Paulo Gazzaniga training

Tottenham have a number of stars playing out of their skins this season. Although we aren’t leading the Premier League, a few players have stepped up big time despite the club having numerous injuries this season.

Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have all been injured at some point of the season. Lloris’ injury gave rise to another star in the team, and Paulo Gazzaniga took his chances really well.

The 26-year-old has been exceptional in the campaign and his recent performances even got him a call-up to the Argentine national side.

The former Southampton keeper was pictured training with the team ahead of the international break.

The 26-year-old hasn’t usurped Hugo Lloris as the Spurs No.1 yet, but his consistency between the sticks has been great this season.

The French keeper might be the Tottenham captain, however, he was far from his best in our 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The World Cup winner was flapping at crosses and did not look comfortable as the Eagles launched attacks targetting him.

Lloris came up trumps late on in the game to deny Palace a goal, but we need to think about who could replace the keeper in the future.

Michel Vorm isn’t getting better and with Gazzaniga chomping at the bits, the Argentine is the best option we have.
