Maxi Gomez

Tottenham are keeping an eye on Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez ahead of a possible move in January, according to El Pais (h/t Daily Star).

The Uruguayan striker has six goals and four assists from 10 La Liga games for Vigo after scoring 17 times for the club last season.

The report claims that West Ham failed in a bid to sign the striker in the summer. The Hammers bid £26.75m for the 22-year-old, however, the club wants £44.5m, which is the release clause of the youngster, as per the report.

Tottenham haven’t had much luck in getting quality cover for Harry Kane as Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente have struggled to score at the club.

Mauricio Pochettino Tottenham

Spurs didn’t bring in any new faces in the summer and the report can’t confirm if Daniel Levy will splash the cash for the 22-year-old.

The youngster does have talent and could be a decent signing for Pochettino. However, we have to be wary of our forward signings given both Janssen and Llorente have failed to light it up at Spurs.

Kane has started every Premier League game for Tottenham this season, and we require someone who can do a job when the Englishman needs a break.

Pochettino has brought out the best of many players at the club, and our South American contingent seem to be doing really well this season.

Gomez would be another South American in the team and it will be interesting to see how this story develops once the winter window opens.
