Tottenham are one of a number of Premier League clubs keeping an eye on League One sensation Josh Maja, according to the Mirror.

The 19-year-old England youngster has been incredible for Sunderland and has 11 goals in all competitions this season.

The report adds that Manchester City and Southampton are also interested in the striker. Maja has helped the Black Cats to second place in the League One standings as they look to gain promotion to the Championship.

The youngster will be out of contract at the end of the season, and the Sunderland manager Jack Ross claimed there were talks between the parties over a new deal but there was no update at the moment (h/t Mirror).

The report adds that a bid of £6m could be enough to sell the star in January if a contract extension cannot be done.

Ross was quoted by the Mirror as saying:

“He will be here minimum until January. I would expect him to be here longer than that. I am confident of that.

“I know he is enjoying it. He is playing and contributing. He is only young. To get 11 goals so far, he deserves huge credit.”

Maja would certainly think about a move to a bigger club that can help his development, and Tottenham would be an ideal club for that.
