Joachim Anderson is one of the hottest properties in the Serie A and Calciomercato (h/t Sun) claims that Tottenham sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old during Sampdoria’s match against Genoa.

The Danish defender has been linked with a £25million move to the Premier League, as per the report, and Manchester United scouts were also present at the game.

Andersen has been exceptional for Sampdoria since making his switch from Twente in 2017. The youngster has played several times for the U21 Denmark side and the report adds he could be on the brink of playing for the senior team too.

Tottenham didn’t sign any players in the summer window, but the report claims Spurs are looking for a Toby Alderweireld replacement.

The Belgian is yet to extend his stay with the London club and could leave on a cut-price deal in the summer (h/t Sun).

The report adds that our London rivals Arsenal are also interested in the 22-year-old and Manchester United have been looking for a quality centre-back as the manager has lost faith in some of the defenders at the club.

It would be interesting to see if we make a move in the winter window for a central defender after the emergence of Juan Foyth.

The Argentine has been exceptional over the past month, and Spurs have another boost in the defence with Jan Vertonghen returning from a long-term injury.
