Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that the club is working to ensure Dele Alli has a great career, even though he makes a few mistakes due to his age.
The Express reports that footage emerged of the Spurs midfielder having a quarrel with a hotel employee last week, but Pochettino defended his player saying (h/t Express):
“Dele makes a lot of mistakes still but we are here helping by being nice but strong, too, internally.
“We want to give him a really strong base and foundation to go on to have a really good career. But it is never easy for a young guy to be consistent when so many things happen – and many things have happened to him because he is so young.”
The Argentine added that the Englishman is quality but needs to control himself, with the club ready to help.
“That said, he is such a talented player and has amazing character – although sometimes he has done badly for himself. He’s still so young and he needs to control that character and we’re here to help him.”
Alli does have an edge to his game, and that gives him something extra on the pitch. The Englishman was one of the best players when we faced Chelsea and he opened the scoring with a deft header from a Christian Eriksen free-kick.
The Englishman hasn’t lit up Spurs this season, but his performance against the Blues is something he should look to recreate every time.

Pochettino is a wonderful manager to have looking over you, and hopefully, Alli fulfils his potential and gets even better.
