Worrying stat proves Tottenham player struggled in second half of game against Arsenal

Dele Alli of Tottenham

Tottenham handed a 2-1 lead to Arsenal after half-time with the Gunners running away 4-2 victors in the North London derby.

The Gunners were by far the better side in the victory but we just did not turn up for the second half of the clash.

Eric Dier and Harry Kane gave us the slender lead but some of the players went missing when Arsenal turned up the pressure.

Dele Alli didn’t have a game to remember, and Review Football (h/t Sun) carried an incredible stat showcasing our struggles at the Emirates.

The 22-year-old had a fantastic game against Chelsea a week ago, but things just weren’t right for the Englishman.

Alli only made six successful passes in the second half with four of them coming from kick-off. This just proved how well Arsenal shackled the Englishman in the game and cut off his influence.

It is true that Arsenal turned it up a couple of gears in the second half, and if some of our players could have tapped into their reserves, we could have come out with something from the tie.

Tottenham don’t have a lot of time to dwell on this result, as we play Southampton in midweek followed by Leicester City away.

Hopefully, things get better for the side and we produce a quality performance against the Saints.
